• [Jul 31, 2024] As the title of this page indicates, I hope to log my thoughts that might be relevant, and interesting to the readers of this page. This might even be an interesting experiment to track how my thoughts shape over time.
  • [Aug 1, 2024] I’m really confused, and to a certain extent disappointed with how the 2024 Paris Olympics is being held. Sometimes, I feel it is right to be right.
  • [Sep 16, 2024] Thought Log is now evolving into meditations, to keep track of my thoughts and questions about reality. Logging my everyday thoughts was never a good idea.
  • [Sep 8, 2024] God created mankind in his image. Mankind created society by their thought. Society created beauty and chaos by its nature. There is beauty in chaos, and chaos in beauty. Beauty away from chaos is heaven, chaos away from beauty is hell. Mankind creates heaven and hell by their thought in the society, their thought in the society is defined by their ego.
  • [Sep 16, 2024] I couldn’t stop wondering about how certain types of music evoke certain emotions, in an objective way (outliers exist in every distribution). Without prior research on this topic, I tried explaining aspects of it as a thought experiment.
    • Could it be that our brains are conditioned to evoke certain emotions as a response to certain frequencies.
      • This conditioning could be a function of the culture (The family of tunes that are used as background scores for scenes evoking a certain emotion in a movie, or the meaning of the lyric in a song), or it could be encoded in our limbic system (Historical significance of sounds like war horns, bells, and so on). Maybe, it could be a function of both.
    • It’d be much more insightful to observe how other animals react to the same music, and if it correlates to how humans react, (let us say it does) is it another property of the universe, implying that there is some sort of emotional representation encoded in the fabric of reality itself which is channeled by our consciousness. This thought kind of reinforces the effectiveness of concerts being emotional tuning forks for the brain.
      • Why does it feel so pleasant to hear birds chirping? Would we feel the same way if some predator made similar sounds?
      • Personally, I’ve felt the nature’s soundscape to be healing, it was very pronounced when I was observing the Solar Eclipse earlier this year, where the birds and insects get confused and make sounds.
      • If it is an inherent property of the universe, then music would be the language of the universe / the language of nature. It makes sense to me because there are sounds for crying, laughing, and so on that communicates certain feelings (even across species).
      • But for most humans (including me), not every sound is musical, we are okay with sounds that resonate with emotions that we recognize and identify, but are emotions categorical? It makes more sense for it to be continuous in nature, and there might be a large part in the spectrum of emotions that we don’t recognize yet or will never probably (maybe it wasn’t meant for humans) which explains the sounds that aren’t musical.
